A One-Stop Voter Toolbox

Voter Alert -- June 20 is Absentee Ballot Deadline for Utah’s June 24 Elections

Any registered voter in Utah may use an absentee ballot--but it must be submitted to your local voter’s clerk by June 20, to be valid for the state’s primary elections on June 24.

But while time is short, voters can still meet the deadline by going to
www.StateDemocracy.org.  At this completely FREE website, voters can download the application form needed to receive an official absentee ballot.  Citizens can also visit this one-stop website to obtain a host of other voter tools, including

  • Links to your state and local Election Board
  • Your Polling Place Locator
  • Election Day Requirements (concerning voting hours, identification, write-ins, etc.)
  • Voter Registration Application (for future elections, since it’s too late for this one)

The nonprofit StateDemocracy Foundation provides this nonpartisan website as a public service, dedicated to the Foundation mission of “Delivering Democracy to Your Desktop!”

The
StateDemocracy.org site has recently been redesigned, updated and re-launched, following eight years of service to over 100,000 citizens nationwide.  Users merely enter their ZipCode… then click to quickly find the local polling place, local election board, or the state and federal lawmakers for that jurisdiction.

As the Internet’s most comprehensive civic engagement site,
StateDemocracy.org connects constituents to lawmakers on the federal level and in all 50 states.  By facilitating grassroots input into government policymaking, StateDemocracy.org fosters an ongoing dialog between the government and the governed, covering all issues that The People find important.

StateDemocracy.org
users can hold lawmakers accountable by comparing voting records against campaign promises, public pronouncements and local needs; so that public servants pay attention to the public interest …rather than just special interests.

The
StateDemocracy Foundation was in the news recently with its latest project,www.LobbyDelegates.com.  This free site enabled rank-and-file members of the Democratic Party to communicate with the 800+ “Super Delegates” -- so-called because they could vote as they pleased.  Tens of thousands of visitors came to LobbyDelegates.com to persuade these top party officials to back either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
